Event Details
The landscape of entrepreneurship in life sciences has several unique characteristics - widely varying risk profiles, a close relationship to academia, evolving regulatory regimes, the potential for great societal good, and, especially today, a very challenging funding environment. Jeff, who began his career as an accidental entrepreneur in information technology in the early 90's, has been exploring this landscape from a variety of perspectives and will share his travelogue to date. Of particular interest is the intersection between entrepreneurship, academia, and life science enterprises and how important science gets translated into clinical and commercial practice. This talk will touch on several different models of life science translational entrepreneurship and discuss a set of still-open questions and emerging challenges.
